Morgantown's Midnight Run: The Teen Escape Everyone's Talking About

0

Big news! Nine teenagers made a daring escape from a youth center in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. But by the next day, all of them were caught and taken back.

How did they escape? These teenagers, who are between 15 and 17 years old, got smart. They managed to get the better of two workers at the Abraxas Academy and took their keys. Their freedom didn't last long, though.

By the next day, four of the teens knocked on a local's house door. They were super tired and cold. David Beohm, who works with the Pennsylvania police, said, “They basically gave up.”

The other five tried a different plan. They took a car but were soon chased by the police. Four of them were caught quickly, and the fifth was found in a nearby field.

Before they were caught, they also tried to get into a parked car. Something scared them off, maybe a house light or a car alarm, and they ran away fast.

What's important is that none of the teenagers tried to fight the police when they were found. Now, they are going to face some serious charges like trying to escape, causing trouble, and more.

This escape made a lot of people join in to help catch the teens. Around 60 people, including local cops and others, looked for them all night. They used cool tools like drones and police dogs to help find them.

Not long ago, another man had escaped not far from this place. So, people in the area were already on high alert. Because of this, everyone was asked to lock up and be extra careful.

This isn’t the first time something big happened at the Abraxas Academy. A few months back, there was a big disturbance with 50 teenagers. No one escaped then, but it made people wonder about how things are managed there.

So, what's Abraxas Academy? It's a place for young guys between 14 to 18 years old who have gotten into serious trouble before. They either keep making the same mistakes or have done something really serious.

After these recent events, people are talking a lot about places like Abraxas. They hope such escapes won’t happen again in the future. Everyone wants to feel safe and ensure kids get the right help.
