In a sad event that has upset many in Ukraine, at least 16 people lost their lives due to a missile hitting the busy city of Kostyantynivka. This city, which is in the Donetsk area and close to the front line, saw this tragedy on a busy day when many were out at market stalls and coffee places.
Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, was very upset about what happened. He said that the people who died did nothing wrong. He believes Russia had a role in this and added that the number of people hurt or dead might go up.
The attack damaged a market, a drug store, and some other shops in Kostyantynivka. Videos showing the explosion and what happened after are now on social media, and they show how bad it was.
Ukraine wants to find out who did this. They have started looking into the event to see if war rules were broken. They said, "We are doing everything we can to find out about the bad things Russia might have done."
So far, Moscow hasn't said anything about this.
The day of the attack was also when the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, was visiting Kyiv. Some people think the US might help Ukraine more after this.
Sadly, Kostyantynivka has seen bad things like this before. Earlier in the year, there were other attacks that hurt and killed many people, including kids.
Kostyantynivka is close to Bakhmut, a place where there has been a lot of fighting. Also, the nearby city of Donetsk has been controlled by groups friendly to Russia since 2014.
As Ukraine tries to recover from this sad day, pictures from Ihor Klimenko, a top official in Ukraine, show people helping out and looking for those lost in the rubble. This shows how strong the people of Ukraine are.
